How many of you joined LJ as a result of the Independent?
And for those of you that did how are you finding it? Is LJ to your liking?
How about the Independent "official journals", has anyone actually had a response to a comment they posted. It seems to me that it is still very much a broadcast model as whilst comments are around the columnists I have seen don't respond.
Now that I've found out that Ashes To Ashes' third and final season has been commissioned, I am content to wait until it airs next year.
Meanwhile, we are now left with endless speculation as to what it's all about. How does the world of 1982's Ashes to Ashes compare with the world of Sam Tyler's 1973 from Life On Mars?
The one big connection is, of course, Gene Hunt. So who the hell is he?
My theory is - this is Heaven. Cops go to this place when they die.
And Gene Hunt ... is God.
Well, either that, or God's only playing Gene Hunt on TV.
If Sam Tyler and Alex Drake had been mathematicians, the world they'd have landed in would be more like the Open University programmes on BBC2 back in the 1970s, and
God Gene Hunt would be spouting something about the partial differentiation of a polynomial with two or more variables or something, whilst wearing a powerful ugly paisley kipper tie.
That's my theory, anyway. Any takers?
You'll note: I've avoided spoilers, for those poor sods who still haven't seen the last episode. For those who have a long night before them before they get the chance to catch up, just drink up that oxtail soup and keep the Quattro running. :)
Only ... one spoiler. A little one. Ray. In the chippy. Priceless! LOL
